Helisonic

  • Helisonic

HeliSonic is a rotating tube ultrasonic inspection system. It uses ultrasonic “Pulse-Echo Technique” with the water jet or immersion coupling, depending on the circumference of the tube. The system can accommodate up to 24 or beyond with probes oriented to test along the longitudinal direction - both in clockwise, as well as in counterclockwise direction. It can also accommodate for probes oriented to test along the transverse direction both in forward, as well as the reverse direction of tube travel. Additional channels for probes oriented in the normal direction (probes) to tube surface for measurement of wall / Lamination defects. A test mechanics installed with probes in HeliSonic provides for testing of tubes from the surface to the ID of tubes. The system uses an advanced ultrasonic system with integrated high-end electronics processes the echo signals received by the probes. For calibration and checking purposes, an A-Scan display of each active transducer is displayed on an LCD monitor. The echoes are evaluated using transit time gates and amplitude comparison at thresholds; they are marked on the surface of the tube. The tubes can be classified as “Prime"; "Cutback"; "Scrap"; "Untested". The flaw results are marked within a range of true defect location with paint on the tube surface. The test results are recorded on a hard disk and can be printed out after the test by a printer.

Immer Sonic

  • Immer Sonic

Immer sonic system is used for inspection and testing of components which are axis symmetric and/or non symmetric components. The system comprises an Immersion Tank with multi-axis drives. All the movements are controlled through the system software, and are reprogrammable as per requirements. The ultrasonic data acquisition consists of A-Scan , B- Scan and C-scan display, which are synchronized to give an accurate information of signal amplitudes, and locations of defects. The advantage of such arrangement is that it is easy to align/normalize transducer to be perpendicular, while in straight down position. The system useslow noise drives, with optical encoder inputs for each axis. The system can also be used with angular positioning motors(like stepper motors with a worm gear box, and power drive). The system incorporates low drives noise by the virtue of its design. The drive motion is rigid and does not deviate from the specified position. A water conditioning unit will be provided for inspection and filtering of water ,through a set of pump, and filter. The quality of water used isde-mineralized water. A continuous loop water chiller is used to maintain water /oil temperature. The system has a set of limit switches for all degree of freedom with software, and hardware limit switches, and a master emergency switch. An additional Proxy switch can be used on the transducer to prevent it from touching the component. The base mounting is done with Anti-vibration mounts.

Transducers

  • Transducers

Ultrasonic transducers convert mechanical vibrations into electrical signals and vice-versa. We provide the best in class and customised transducers for frequencies ranging from 1Mhz to 20 Mhz. The transducers/probes are manufactured in-house as per customer requirements and dimension constraints. We also provide Immersion probes, rubber tip probes, non-contact probe and contact probes.

Ultra Case

  • Ultra Case

Ultrasonic testing of materials is one of most sophisticated and sought-after testing methods in the field of NDT. It uses high-frequency sound waves to examine, measure and detect abnormalities in a material. This method is generally used in industrial environments for measurement of wall thickness and as well as to detect cracks or discontinuities affecting the structural integrity of a material. Ultrasonic’s has grown to be a powerful tool in quality control and on-site inspection. The UltraCase uses high frequency (10 MHz to 20 MHz) ultrasound to measure the depth of hardness in materials. UltraCase hardness depth measurement can be done for case depth greater than 1.5 mm, in contrast with typical hardness measurement (destructive methods), Ultra Case provides a near real-time control of heat treatment, to reduce costs and detection capability. It can also reduce inspection costs, eliminate destructive testing of waste generated, and provides 100% inspection of components.

Ultra Comp

  • Ultra Comp

Composite materials are inhomogeneous in their structure, and present certain challenges in inspection as compared to metallic materials. Inhomogeneous structures make ultrasonic waves to disperse/attenuate with a high rate of absorption compared to the same wave when it passes through a homogenous metallic material. Ultrasonic inspection method and techniques are thus tailored to the individual component structure. Vivace Sonics provides customized solutions in the composite inspection field. Ultra-Composite is an ultrasonic flaw detector based on Shadow Technique, which is a proven method in NDT domain. In this method, ultrasonic energy is transmitted through a test object and the quality of the material is assessed by the intensity of the ultrasonic radiation after it has been transmitted through that material. The method can be performed using through transmission technique or pulse-echo technique. This technique is well suited to components having an asymmetrical geometry for different types of materials like Plastics/Rubber Composites, GRP and CFRP, Root pass weld, tiers, ceramics, bonding and honeycomb sections in aluminum, steel, paper etc. This method of testing is primarily used in the Aerospace and Defense industries. For non-symmetric components, a manual system is provided with C-Scan ability.

Ultra Flow

  • Ultra Flow

The measurement of the flow of water/liquids is one of the key factors of reliability in many fields. UltraFlow is a flow measurement unit, to detect the flow and/rate of the liquid flowing inside a tube. The system is a non-invasive technique with almost zero maintenance and failure rate. The system is currently under trial. Contact us for more information.

Ultra Plate Viva

  • Ultra Plate Viva

The test is conducted by an “Ultrasonic Pulse-Echo Technique” with water immersion coupling on the circumference of the tube. Probes are oriented to test along the longitudinal direction, both in clockwise, as well as in counter clockwise direction. Probes can also be oriented to test along the transverse direction both in forward, as well as reverse direction of tube travel. (Optional) Probes are oriented normal to tube surface for measurement of wall / Lamination defects. A test mechanics installed with probes in HeliSonic-16 provides testing of tubes from the surface to the ID of tubes. An ultrasonic system with integrated high-end electronics processes the echo signals received by the probes. (Can be customized and Optional) The flaw results are marked within a range of true defect location with paint on the tube surface. The test results are recorded on a hard disk and can be printed out after the test by a printer.
